Immediately after the confetti dropped from the sky and Tom Brady secured his astonishing 7th career Super Bowl victory, oddsmakers had their eyes on next February when Super Bowl LVI will come from the sparkling new SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles (hopefully with fans present and COVID-19 in the rear-view mirror).
It’s not a huge surprise that the first batch of odds has Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady facing off once again.
The Chiefs (+500) are your early short favorite to win their second Super Bowl in three seasons, while the defending World Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers check-in at +950, with the conference runner-ups in Buffalo and Green Bay each clocking in at 11-to-1.
Oddsmakers are especially bullish on the NFC West division with the Rams (+1300), 49ers (+1400), and Seahawks (+2000) each landing in the Top 9 of next season’s Super Bowl odds.
If you’re the kind of futures bettor that likes to believe in miracles, the longest shots entering the 2021 offseason are Urban Meyer’s Jacksonville Jaguars, Joe Burrow’s Bengals, and (for now) Drew Lock’s Broncos all coming in at 80-1.
The longest shot on the board? Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions at 120-1.
